When it comes to equipment it is a matter of preference and what makes you comfortable.
Helmets:
The right helmet is a critically important safety feature. LBL strongly encourages players to invest even first year players to invest in a new, approved lacrosse helmet. LBL encourages players to purchase white Brine or Cascade helmets, first and foremost for the safety of the players, but also to complete the uniformity of the team look. LBL will be providing helmet decals at a cost of $5.00 per player that fit the above helmets.
For younger players you should consider youth model helmets. Many offer adjustability features.
Protective Equipment:
This category includes shoulder pads, arm guards and gloves. Major manufacturers included STX, Warrior, Maverik, Reebok, Brine, and Harrow.
Generally their product offerings fall into the “Good , Better , Best “ models with entry level products and pricing increases all the way to their “Best” model.

Sticks:
Major manufacturers included STX, Warrior, Maverik, Reebok, Brine, Harrow
Sticks are composed of shafts and heads. Complete sticks can be purchased at a reasonable cost. In general these sticks will come with an Alloy shaft that is fine for new players, and a head that is designed for new players. The head will not be as “pinched” and will beneficial in helping new players to learn to catch and throw.
Shafts:
Similar to Little League baseball bats, lacrosse shafts are available in several different alloys ranging from Aluminum, Scandium, Vanadium to Titanium. The pricing will range from $20 - $275.
Heads:
As a shaft is comparable to a new Little League bat, the head can be compared to a glove. Heads are available in several makes, models and purposes. The pricing will range from $20 - $165.
