Selection
LBL was founded in 1993 to promote the sport of Lacrosse in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The organization strives to emphasize the development of boy and girl lacrosse players, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, and discipline and employing coaching methods that provide a positive, rewarding experience for players on and off the field.
The Stephanie Magnone Award (girls program) is named after the LBL Girls’ founder. Coach Magnone embodies the traits described in LBL’s mission, and this scholarship will be awarded to the female applicant(s) who most exemplify these characteristics.
The Jerry Middlemiss Award (boys program) is named after Jerry Middlemiss, a founder of the Lower Bucks Lacrosse Club in 1993. Coach Jerry, then the Head Coach at Trenton State College and coach of the Hopewell Lacrosse League, recognized the need for the development of a Yardley area club as the sport continued to grow in the Lower Bucks area.
Scholarship candidates will be notified by email no later than May 15th, with an award ceremony at the annual LBL picnic in June.
